Build the Institution

Join the team building Kavana Labs.

Kavana Labs is developing a long-term engineering, research, and innovation ecosystem for Africa. We welcome serious contributors who want to apply their skills, grow through meaningful work, and help build the systems required for lasting impact.

Help build the institution itself.

Core-team volunteering is different from supporting a single event or KES cohort. Core-team contributors help build the long-term systems, programmes, partnerships, products, research pathways, communications, and operational foundations of Kavana Labs.

HOW IT WORKS

A structured contribution model

  • Defined Role
  • Orientation
  • 2–4 Week Trial Period
  • Confirmed Contribution Period
  • Regular Review
  • Renewal, Role Change, or Exit

Volunteer roles are designed to be clear, time-bound, and mutually beneficial. Expectations, time commitments, and deliverables should be defined before contribution begins.

OPEN ROLES

Open Core-Team Opportunities

Core-team roles are volunteer contributions to the institution. Each role defines its responsibilities, time commitment, supervisor, and contribution period.

Grow through meaningful contribution.

Strong contributors may receive structured feedback, portfolio-ready work, formal contribution records, recommendation letters where appropriate, recognition for meaningful work, leadership opportunities, and priority consideration for future opportunities as Kavana Labs grows.
